This belief existed long before KurlClub did. Back when we were working our 9 to 5 jobs, we were three indie hackers focused on building things that actually matter, not just things that look impressive.
One thing we learned early is that you don’t build everything at once. You pick one direction and move forward. While exploring areas where design and technology were underutilized, we found ourselves in an unexpected place - the gym.
In South India, traditional gyms, Kalaris, and health centers are often more like community spaces than structured businesses. Many are run with good intentions, sometimes even like a service rather than a business.
Even those who want to operate professionally are often stuck with manual systems - not because they resist change, but because they are only beginning to discover that better tools exist.
That gap is where KurlClub was born.
The idea truly clicked when one of us decided to break out of a lazy phase and join a gym. What seemed like a small personal inconvenience quickly revealed a much bigger pattern.
This wasn’t just one gym’s problem - it was everywhere.
What followed was months of what we call conscious chaos. We visited gyms, spoke to owners, observed workflows, and validated everything firsthand.
Most gyms were running entirely on pen and paper, WhatsApp messages, and memory.
So we started building.
After months of testing, breaking things, and iterating continuously, we arrived at the product we have today.
KurlClub is not finished. It’s not perfect. But it’s alive.
We evolve constantly based on real customer feedback, with one simple mission - to make gym operations less painful.
This is just the beginning. We’re still early, still learning, and still obsessed with solving this problem the right way.
